"The Possibilities are 9¢ a ride."
me, age 4
I’m most relaxed when I am being creative. It feels like I have so many possibilities and it seems like they come to life in front of me.
When I am being creative, whether I am drawing, painting or creating things with my hands, I feel like time slows down and before long it has been several hours. It makes me happy and I feel joyful as I focus and work. I feel like I have so many possibilities at my finger tips.
My Story
I was adopted from Vietnam at 11 months old. I live in Connecticut with my parents and my pets. I have a large extended family and we go to Maryland often to visit them.
My family likes to travel and we’ve visited many interesting places in the United States and abroad.. My biggest trip was going to Asia and back to Vietnam, my homeland.
We like to watch movies, play lots of games, cook, gather with friends and family, and participate in community activities.
I am grateful to have a full, busy, and exciting life.
I am Vietnamese. I am Asian. I am American.
Since I was very young, my parents felt strongly about keeping my heritage alive. We spent time at a Vietnamese Buddhist temple, celebrated Vietnamese holidays, attended Vietnamese Culture camp in the summer time, and cook and eat plenty of good Vietnamese Food. I have stayed in touch with two other Vietnamese adoptees and also got to know a couple of Vietnamese young women who studied in America. I feel very connected and proud of my Vietnamese roots. And my trip there in 2019 only deepened the connection.
At home with Mom & Dad
My Dad is Creative and Crazy and we share a lot of interests. He runs on caffeine and tries to make me laugh but it doesn’t work. He’s just not funny.
My Mom is kind and is practical. We share a love of reading and she has read to me from the moment we met. She also runs on caffeine even though she claims she doesn’t
They both work well together to keep me alive! Thankfully.

Family is home to me.
I have a large family. My mom has five siblings. My father has a sister, Lucy, who is also an artist. But he has a large extended family both in America and abroad. Rachael is my orphanage sister. Being adopted from the same orphanage at the same time, our parents have kept us connected over the years. We see Rachael regularly. Rachael lives in New Hampshire. We have also been connected to Jonathan, another Vietnamese adoptee since I was a baby. My parents are Godparents to Jonathan and his sister Cecelia.
