Track & Field
When I run Track and Field, it feels really good to be running as fast as I can. My favorite race is the 200 meter which is a fast sprint. It makes me feel alive to run as fast as I can.
Cross Country
I have recently started running Cross Country. When I am in a Cross Country race and people are cheering me on, it makes me feel happy to know that people care to see me finish.
Zenshinkan Aikido
I have been training in Aikido since I was seven. My father thought it was important for me to learn a martial art for my mind and body. I learned to be patient and also relaxed when under stress. It is important to be present and focused in Aikido.
Sensei Bel is head of Zenshinkan Dojo. She is my Aikido teacher.
Skateboarding
I am just learning how to skate. My orphanage sister Rachael and I both skateboard. My dad loves to skateboard and he encouraged me to give it a try.
Soccer
I played a little soccer over the years. First in pre-school and kindergarten for the Town of Putnam Rec Center. Then I played again in 6th grade for St. Joseph’s School. It was a fun experience.
Gymnastics
When I was younger I wanted to be a gymnist. I took lessons at Deary’s Gymnastics for one year. We had a gymnastics event where I showed off all our techniques that we had learned. I learned to be flexible and agile.
Ballet & Dance
When I was very little, I wanted to be a ballerina. So I convinced my parents to allow me to take dance lessons. When my mom said I couldn’t eat ice cream if I wanted to be a ballerina I told her that I’d be a taxi driver instead.
